Gluten-Free Cooking: Get Sauced

Posted On: August 6, 2015

What’s the one thing standing between you and the perfect gluten-free dish? Obviously the correct answer is THE RIGHT SAUCE.

Of course, that said, we all know that store bought sauces tend to be unexpected vehicles for gluten delivery. Does your BBQ sauce NEED gluten in it? Absolutely not. So why not make your own?

From dessert toppings to savory pestos, the right sauce can elevate a baked, grilled, or chilled dish pretty effortlessly. It not only adds that extra umph, but it’s the kind of thing that lends itself well to making in bulk and storing for later use whenever you darn well please. Having a sundae? Grab the chocolate sauce. Feel like grilling? Bust out the homemade marinade.

Sometimes for something to feel truly special, you just gotta get dressed up. And we’ve got the recipes to help you dress to impress.

Why not dessert first? To satisfy your sweet tooth, try these recipes for hot fudge, caramel, butterscotch, and marshmallow sauces from Gluten-Free On A Shoestring.
